Villanueva Town Mayor Juliet Uy leads other local officials during a recent formal turn-over of checks to 300 beneficiaries of the Micro-Enterprise Development Program (MDP) in five (5) barangays in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. Jointly initiated by STEAG State Power Inc (SPI), the local government of Villanueva and the First Community Cooperative (FICCO), the project aims to provide credit access to small entrepreneurs at he same time develop a culture of savings among them. The program also forms part of SPI’s continuing commitment to help improve the economic condition of residents in its host communities in Villanueva where the 210MW Mindanao Coal-fired power Plant project is currently being put up. Assiting the Mayor during the turn-over are Association of Barangay Captains (ABC)  President Oliver Ello (middle) and SPI Project Development Officer Bernard Chaves (3rd from left).
