News Exploring Partnership on Marine Resource Conservation Members of the faculty and staff of Xavier University Biology Department and its Marine Research and Development Center led by Dr. Hilly Ann Quiaoit (3rd from left) visited recently the 210MW (net) Mindanao Coal-Fired Power Plant Project in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental to look into possible institutional partnership with STEAG State Power Inc. (SPI) in the development and implementation of a Coastal Resource and Marine Protection Program along the Macajalar Bay. SPI welcomes this development as it cites its continuing commitment to help protect the marine resources especially within the immediate vicinity of its power plant operations. SPI Shift Superintendent Eric Pasia and Communications Officer Jerome Soldevilla (1st and 2nd from left, respectively) led the XU team during the orientation and plant tour.
