Employees of STEAG State Power Inc (SPI) participated in a nationwide simultaneous tree-growing campaign spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently. The activity aims to green the entire stretch of the Pan Philippine Highway in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. SPI adopted a one kilometer stretch along the national highway in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, where it will maintain and ensure survival of the trees planted in the next couple of years. The trees planted will add on to an existing 1,200 hectare Mapawa Reforestation Project which the company is implementing in Cagayan de Oro City.
