Officers of the Cagayan de Oro Press Club led by its President Uriel Quilinguing toured recently the 1,200 hectare forestry project of STEAG State Power Inc. (SPI) in Mapawa, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City. The project is considered as the biggest private-led forestry undertaking in the country and is implemented in partnership with the E. Pelaez Ranch Inc. (EPRI) and the DENR Environmental Management Bureau. The project is over and above an existing 1,000 Urban Forestry Project which SPI is also implementing in its host towns of Villanueva and Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental where the 210MW (net) Mindanao Coal-Fired Power Plant is currently being put-up.
